About
Welcome to MoreBaseball.com - a website all about baseball equipment ... gloves, mitts, wood bats, metal bats, cleats, pitching machines and hitting aids, pants that actually fit right, flip-up sunglasses, eye black, batting gloves, catcher's equipment...you name it. We can't get enough of it.
My name is Ian Ybarra, and I'm the guy behind More Baseball.
I grew up playing baseball and Wiffle ball and any other ball I could hit with any stick or bat I could find. And all through school I probably spent more time reading and re-reading my Eastbay and Western Athletic magazines...wait, they weren't magazines? they were catalogs?!...than I spent reading books for my classes.
In addition to baseball, I've always had an interest in technology. I went to college at MIT and studied materials engineering. Although I chose not to work in technology after I graduated, I still read a lot about the latest scientific research and especially how it relates to sports equipment. (One of my proudest moments was helping a friend get an internship with Easton's baseball bat research group.)
I started this website to share what I learn about new equipment, what the pros are using, etc...and to connect with everyone else who loves baseball and baseball gear.

Q was an All-State infielder in high school and "Midwest Bunting Champion" in some ridiculous contest before the 2006 Babe Ruth 16-year-old Midwest Regional Championship. He's now a student at Duke University, where he works for the Sports Information office and operates the manual scoreboard during Duke baseball games in the Durham Bulls ballpark.
